getting into the swing

I had a conference call with my manager and vice president today, I could be back in the office as early as next Monday.

Returning to work after being out for a year and 2 months is sort of like starting a job for the first time, I'll be in training from scratch. And they've added 3 people to the team in my office, reorganized things a bit, and dropped the large pain-in-the-ass project that I used to own.

How do I feel? Nervous.

There's the excitement that I'll finally have stuff to do during the day, I'll be part of the productive world again, oh and there's the fun 1-hour commute back and forth to the office. There's also a lot of nervousness about akward situations, meeting expectations, and the stigma of having been ill for so long. But I'm alive and mostly well, and that's what really matters.

Finally, I get to move on.
